A Roundup of our Partners

Everything’s better when working together, right?

Our local partnerships are an extension of our commitment to facilitating the best adventures in and around Yellowstone.  Working with area experts allows us to offer unique activities and better, more well-rounded experiences for everyone.

Whether you’ve already booked with Flying Pig or are still weighing your options, here’s what you need to know about the folks we team up.

FUEL UP

The Corral is a cozy burger joint and one of Gardiner, Montana’s most established businesses. Ask anyone in town, and they’ll confirm that the Elk Burger is the very best. They might add that it is best served with a huckleberry milkshake, also a local favorite. Exploring some of the planet’s best backcountry deserves the kind of grub that comes with a cherry on top.

Since 1960, The Corral’s reputation has rested on burgers. Namely, generous-sized patties (beef, elk, or buffalo) topped with American cheese, bacon, and veggies. From bun to bun, they sit on your plate about 7 inches tall! Best paired with hand-cut fries, fresh salad and the best ice cream in town. Grilled chicken, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available as alternative fuel for your Yellowstone adventures.

In part with the Western Sustainability Exchange program,”Farm to Restaurant” The Corral commits to sourcing local, sustainable, and organic ingredients. This attention to quality not only makes for hearty meals, it’s also what makes The Corral an essential partner and provider of lunch as part of our many adventure packages.

GIDDY UP

Saddle up, partners! Yellowstone’s horseback-riding season starts in May, the time of year for grabbing the reins, and hitting the trails. At Flying Pig, we strive to offer an authentic, on-the-range, cowboy experience for adventure seekers of all ages and abilities. And it’s only possible thanks to the folks at Hell’s A ’Roarin’ Outfitters.

The Johnson family’s historic ranch sits above Gardiner in the Absaroka Mountains overlooking  the National Forest. For generations, the Johnsons’ have opened their ranch doors wide, sharing their land, horses and expertise with locals and visitors alike.

Collaborating with Hell’s A’ Roarin’ allows us to offer our much-loved Paddle and Saddle trip from May through September. A two-hour horseback ride kicks off at the Johnson family ranch where guests are paired up with an experienced steed. Hell’s A ‘Roarin’ staff ensures that everyone feels comfortable with their horse, whether it’s their first time in the saddle or they are an experienced wrangler. The ride takes you across open meadows and finished along a trail through the Gallatin National Forest above Yellowstone National Park.

After the saddle portion of the package trip, guests have a chance to wash up and head back to town to redeem their lunch tickets at the Corral. Fully recharged, it’s off to Flying Pig’s rafting location to suit up in get-wet gear and commence the paddle down the 8-mile stretch of the Yellowstone River.

LIGHT UP

Nature, wildlife and the opportunity to explore are what attracts most to the Yellowstone area. But a truly well-rounded trip also includes some dedicated time to immerse in the local culture.
