Better yet, you can take in the views while gaining the authentic Montana cowboy and angler experience with our horseback and fly fishing adventures. You have the chance to ride the trails of Gallatin National Forest on horseback, and get up close and personal with the waters of Yellowstone on a peaceful Walk and Wade or Float and Fish. So, you have decided to horseback ride with The Flying Pig and now you’re wondering what’s in store for your adventure. You will first stop in at The Flying Pig deck where one of our staff will check you in and provide you with driving instructions up to the ranch. Once you arrive at the ranch the wranglers will pair you up with a horse that is a good fit for you. You will then embark on your 1 hour or 2 hour trip, crossing a small creek, wandering along the high country plains, and overlooking views of Yellowstone that are unique to the Hell’s a Roarin’ Ranch. The wranglers will provide a saddle bag, so feel free to bring along your phone or camera so you do not miss out on capturing this memory! Our horseback rides also come with opportunities to add on an 8-mile rafting trip in our Paddle and Saddle package, enjoy a cowboy style feast at the ranch’s Cowboy Cookout, or enjoy an overnight at the ranch. Maybe you’re more of the leisurely vacation type, or you’ve gotten all your wild adventuring done and you’re ready to wind down. A fly fishing trip is exactly what you’re looking for! You will embark on a 4 hour half-day trip, or an 8 hour full-day trip and enjoy being fully immersed in the nature of Yellowstone, surrounded by the soaring mountains and tranquil environment.
