Based out of our fully decked out Fly Shop, our guides and Yellowstone River fly fishing trips are set up to accommodate any level. We love seeing the excitement and satisfaction on the face of a guest when the hook is set and they land their first rainbow or cutthroat…or even their hundredth!
Looking for a Yellowstone River Fly Fishing Float Trip? We can take you there, too. Just outside Yellowstone Park, the upper stretches of the Yellowstone River are lightly fished but hold large numbers of native cutthroats, rainbow, and brown trout. Our private access to the river allows our guides to put you where the fish are without fighting the crowds.
We will handle all of the details so you can sit back and enjoy the one-of-a-kind fishing and scenery that can only be found on the upper Yellowstone River. Book your adventure today!
YELLOWSTONE PARK FLY FISHING WALK & WADE TRIP – HALF-DAY

There are several “must do’s” when visiting Yellowstone Park, and fly fishing is one of them. Learn to fly fish on one of Yellowstone Park’s famous rivers with the help our experienced fishing guides. The perfect introduction to fly fishing!
- Half Day: One to Two People $550 ($100 for an additional third person)*
*Maximum of three guests per guide. Larger groups require additional guides. Additional trips are required for larger groups. Pricing DOES NOT include the price of a fishing license.

New to fly-fishing? No worries! We specialize in introducing individuals and families to the wonderful sport of fishing with a fly. The Flying Pig Fly Shop can equip you from head to toe, and our friendly and patient guides will provide you with all the basic instruction you need to make your day on the water a success. We can’t think of a better place to learn this art form than in the awe-inspiring landscape of Yellowstone National Park.
Before we take off on your fishing adventure, we will meet at the Flying Pig Store to chart a course for the day. Our destination will vary depending on the water conditions, your experience level as well as current hatch activity (in other words: where the fish are biting!). We work hard to customize the experience to give you an unforgettable day on the water that will leave you wanting to come back again.
Experienced anglers will appreciate our guides’ intimate knowledge of the waters in the Park and our ability to put our guests on fish throughout the season. If you have specific waters on your bucket list or just want to fish the best water available during your stay in the Yellowstone area, let us know and we’ll customize a trip just for you! All fishing gear is included in the price, including waders and wading boots if weather conditions call for them.

Trip Details
The Flying Pig Adventure Company is proud to offer guided float trips on the Yellowstone River. We make our living on this water all summer long so no one knows the river better than we do. While we offer floats trips all the way to Livingston, our specialty is floating the upper reaches of the Yellowstone from our home base in Gardiner, MT to the Tom Miner area just downstream of Yankee Jim Canyon. This stretch receives lots of recreational rafting use but relatively light fishing pressure due to the expertise needed to navigate the rapids and rocks. But don’t let that scare you, our guides are expert rafters and these waters are full of eager cutthroats, rainbows, and browns that readily take dry flies all summer long.
Our float trips depart from our riverside headquarters in Gardiner and can last a half-day or full-day depending on your preference. Bring your own gear or use ours and don’t forget your appetite as a hearty lunch is included on our full-day float trips!
Float trips accommodate two guests per guide on a boat. Larger groups require additional guides.
